iPhone App “I Am T-Pain”
According to Billboard, T-Pain teamed with iPhone developer Smule and iTunes to create “I Am T-Pain” the app allows users to “Auto-Tune” their voice.
“I came up with the idea like six months back when I saw other artists with applications at the App store on iPhones,” T-Pain tells Billboard.com. “I was trying to figure out why I didn’t have one yet, especially since I love the iPhone and am always buying applications. So I went to the applications people, got with Smule and told them we had to make an application that will blow all these other apps out the water. That’s when we came up with the ‘Auto-Tune’ idea.”
The iPhone app released on September 4th will cost $2.99 to purchase. “I Am T-Pain” allows users to turn their phones into a mini-recording studio and a karaoke machine, also features a freestyle mode that lets them create their own songs, email the tracks to friends and to publish the work on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. “We’re working on Twitter right now,” T-Pain adds.
